A select bibliography on health aspects of human rights: 1984-1999.

his bibliography was prepared in the course of the compiler's work in the field of human rights at WHO during 1997 and thereafter while serving as a Special Advisor in the WHO-based Council for International Organizations of Medical Sciences. It does not purport to be comprehensive or necessarily up to date. Every effort has been made, however, to eliminate any bias toward English-language publications by including books, reports, and other publications (including special issues of certain journals) in all languages. The starting date, 1984, was selected arbitrarily, although it is fully realized that key contributions to the literature on the health and human rights interface were published prior to that date. The following abbreviations are used to identify types of entries:
